1974년 발표한 2번째 스튜디오 앨범인"And Other Bits of Material"에
들어 있는 곡 'The Night Chicago Died'로 빌보드 1위에 올랐으며
그전 곡은 'Billy, Dont Be a Hero'로는 영국 차트에서
1위를 기록하면서 많은 인기를 누른 록밴드 그룹이다.
'The night Chicago Died' 1974년 발표한 빌보드 1위, 영국 3위 곡.
곡이 시작될 때 사이렌 소리가 울리며 대형 사고가 발생한 것 같은
불안한 느낌을 주면서 드럼 비트와 함께 급박하게 상황을 연출한다.
"The Night Chicago Died"와 같은 영화 제목도 있으며
Rock Group Paper Lace의 최대 히트곡으로
미국의 경제공황 시절에 그 당시 미국 사회를 공포로
떨게 했던 시카고 갱단의 두목이었던 알 카포네가 일으킨
'St. Valentine Day Massacre'를 배경을 암시하는 곡으로
이 사건은 1929년 2월 14일 밸런타인데이에 일어났으며,
노래 가사처럼 실제로 경찰과 대항하기 위해 총격전이 벌어진 것은
